Meet Rome with a local
Rome is eternal — but most visitors only scratch the surface. Behind every tourist-packed piazza is a neighbourhood where Romans actually live, eat, and socialise.
A Trovi host will show you the city they grew up in: the neighbourhood bar where everyone knows your name, the courtyard garden hidden behind an unmarked door, the street artist who’s been painting the same wall for twenty years.
Why Rome with a local?
Because Rome is a city of layers — archaeological, culinary, social. You need someone who knows which layer to peel back. Our hosts are students, artists, and lifelong Romans who’ve spent years discovering their own city.
Local tips
Testaccio market is where Romans actually shop for food — better and cheaper than tourist markets.
Buy a 48-hour public transport pass — buses and trams cover everything in the centre.
Aperitivo hour (6–8pm) in Pigneto or Trastevere often includes free snacks with your drink.
Book Borghese Gallery online — they cap visitors strictly and same-day entry is rarely available.
Avoid fake menus in English near major landmarks — walk two streets away for honest prices.
